One Crayon Colour Blog Hop

Sally challenged us to come up with a monochromatic design in a crayon colour of our choice - I chose blue. I often work with teals, aquas and turquoises, but usually more green in tone. I love blue though. Here's my blue on blue:

a mixed media cuff

hand dyed silk ribbon - www.sowzeredesigns.com

patinated blue chain - www.missficklemedia.etsy.com

 enamelled flower - www.gardannebeads.etsy.com

gemstones, including labradorite with the most amazing blue flash I've ever seen - www.precioussparklebeads.co.uk

Rebecca,
Your cuff is very pretty. I like how you incorporated the soft silk with the hard of the chain and stones. All the different shades of blue that you chose are beautiful together.

Beautimous! Even though there's no turquoise or red to be found, it's still definitely YOU. I love the big fabric bit too, so soft :)

I adore blue. You nailed it. The mix of all the stones and silk just make this so lovely. The hints of blue on the chain just set it over the top. I really really like this!

I love the width of the ribbon, and how the beads lie on it. And I also like how you wrapped your briolettes -- perfect. Beautiful!

That cuff really makes me sigh. It's so romantic and girlie. I'm amazed that you were able to capture that flash of blue in the labradorite. It's such a cool stone! As always, your work is amazing!

Rebecca,

This is such a gorgeous piece! The colors of the beads and the silk are amazing. And the metal keeps this feminine piece from being too 'girly'. Fabulous!

I love your cuff, Rebecca - I'm quite terrified of mixing elements, so I love when I see designs that put them together so nicely, so balanced, it's a beauty!

This is a WOW bracelet! Everything about it speaks to me - looks like it took ages to make and I love that you incorporated so many elements that go together wonderfully. It is like a song sung perfectly on key!

Oh that is gorgeous! But then again, I knew your entry would be :)
I never would have thought of layering everything over a wide ribbon, but it works perfectly, and I bet it's really comfortable to wear. And that labradorite - wow!
