Yum! Blackberries forever remind me of this funny story. When my sister & her family first moved to Naples, Italy, she was thrilled to see loaded blackberry vines down the road from her house. She picked enough berries to make two cobblers, and brought one to her landlord. (Let it be known she is a berry freak and a master pastry chef.) When he saw what she'd used in the cobbler, he told her, "We don't eat those! They are for the snakes!" She's certain he threw it away without even a taste :(
